It is hard to believe that it is November already. But it is.
October 28 marked the and of the Mayan Calendar. Certainly everything has changed and all of the systems, Corporations and banks are falling apart.
Just now I passed the occupy encampment in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Lancaster, Pennsylvania has a model occupy encampment and nonviolence is the rule. I went to the mayor's office here in Lancaster today to let him know how much we appreciate his leadership as pertains to the Occupy movement here.
Our mayor loves Harley-Davidson's. We gave him a book about Harley-Davidson motorcycles as a token of our appreciation.
Compassionate leadership is what is needed in all arenas right now. We certainly could use it in the hospitals where we work. Medicine has been taken over by the corporations, who are not people, contrary to what our Supreme Court thinks. The Corporations which have taken over medicine are the health insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies.
But we can do better. Last night on my radio show, Donna Smith, documentary subject of Michael Moore's SiCKO, was my guest. We had a wonderful time. You can listen here.
We did discuss the sorry health care situation in this country. 100,000 people die every year here in America because they lack access to healthcare.
Over and out. Until next time.Kate Loving Shenk
Kate Loving And The Collective Wisdom 09/20 by Kate Loving Shenk | Blog Talk Radio.
This whole radio show was a Prayer Reading which turned out to be auspicious. Soon after, my radio show was picked up by New World Library, publisher of Eckhart Tolle's books, to interview newly published authors. For that, I will be eternally grateful!A Prayer Reading is something I thought I would try on the radio show, to see if this practice would be a good one to continue in the future.
Prayer is a Universal Language. Certainly everyone in any religion or spiritual walk of life has the inner vision to pray, prayerfully. This practice has a humbling effect upon the psyche. It is a meditation. And meditation is also a prayer.
So Prayer Readings will become a regular spot on my radio show. The next one will be in the New Year.

This blog is waiting for me to take it to a whole new level. It is urging me to use it in a unique way that stands out from simply another place to repost the prayers from the Pray To Heal Blog at Crabbysbeach.
The name of this blog is Nurse Healers. So from now on, Nurse Healer issues will be addressed.
Onward.

Dear God/ess, I just got off the phone with our friend, Sheila Audet, Astrology's Astrologer. (She hates it when I call her that).
I delivered flowers to her house the other day to thank her for teaching our Customer Service Team how to do the Thriller Dance. I told her that our team was way over our head on that one, and if not for her guidance, we would never have been able to do it.
However, Sheila was still asleep when I delivered the flowers, and I was laughing and talking with her partner, Jo-an, whose presence in both of our lives is a loving gift.
Sheila thought I was my mother, as she drifted in and out of sleep. Years ago, Sheila came to visit my mother at 9 am every morning and they discussed what Sheila was learning, Astrologically speaking. It happened to be 9 am when I arrived to Sheila and Jo-an's house and Sheila was transported in "time" to my mother's round kitchen table at my family home across the town where we still live.
Certain experiences have a certain timeless feeling to them. Those times around my mother's table were an example of infinite infinity. I never thought my mother would ever die, and even now, I doubt if she ever did, esoterically speaking.
I never thought my dog Mukunda would ever die, either. Why is it we think certain experiences will never end?
As we age, the impermanence of time begins to enlighten our perspective. We realize that all of our moments are precious, and we fully live them in the moments we have left.
But I still have a difficult time accepting death.
Now that I've admitted it, I can now fully release it to the angels for healing.
Om Peace Amen

Dear God/ess, On MoonMooYou: The Collective Wisdom this week, I loudly proclaimed to my guest, Joel Wechsler, that I was 100% against Capitol Punishment. A society that kills people as a punishment is not modeling a redemptive example to our children and grandchildren. A society that kills animals and people is not going to convince anyone to do the right thing.
We have a strictly punitive criminal justice system here in this country. What happens to a person who has not committed murder, and is locked up for years, treated like an animal without rehabilitation and then released to an unsuspecting population? How does this serve anyone, the person who committed the crime and the people s/he must go forth and co-mingle with?
The American tax-payer subsidizes this barbaric and medieval system of so called justice, which in fact creates more criminals. When society judges a person on the worst thing s/he ever did in his (or her) life, there is very little room for redemption.
Since 1973, 138 Americans have been convicted of murder and sentenced to death and subsequently exonerated, that is found to be innocent of their crime. An untold number have been put to death, claiming to be innocent. Many people have lost respect for bureaucrats and politicians these days because they commit crimes and escape punishment. If our government is indeed convicting and killing innocent people, how can We The People continue to allow these atrocities to continue?
How can we redeem our social humanitarian values from the ashes of a system that no longer serves the Common Good?
Today over half the countries of the world have abolished the Death Penalty, while we continue to execute folks at a rate unparalleled at any other time in American History.
So we take personal responsibility. We face the truth of our broken system and become honest and integrated people. In this process, we discover our inner grace and ability to forgive.
We do this because there is no other choice.

Dear God/ess, One of the wonderful things I have learned by writing prayers, and this lesson came to me spontaneously and automatically, is that I don't need to know or have proof of why things happen, like illness, pain or crisis.
Yes, it is human nature to need proof and even statistics for the events and experiences of our lives. And when challenges arise, we all tend to want to find reasons that point to something we did or did not do to make "it" happen. People might think if they "Come To Jesus," for instance, nothing "bad" will ever happen again. And when it does, God/ess is secretly held up as the Power that let them down.
"God is a Creator, not a custodian," someone recently told me.
Real healing seldom occurs if we try and reason our way out of a crisis, an illness or a death.
Real healing only happens when we give up the need to know WHY, the ultimate addiction of human-kind.
Surrender to What Is. Surrender to the Universal Intelligence. Surrender to God/ess.
The act of surrendering is not a rational process, but is a mystical and radical transformation. The Leap Of Faith comes to mind, because leaping into the unknown defies our rational mind. We must develop blind courage to undergo such an adventure.
Releasing the need to know immediately brings a cheerful light into our collective heart. It also brings us immediately to this wonderful moment, the only moment there is. In this releasing and letting go, old wounds, resentments and the need to play victim vanish.
This is the only thing we need to know.
Om Peace Amen

Your Daily Prayer For Healing-12/01/2010-Your Prayer For Today
Dear God/ess, The Thriller Dance we did for our Customer Service presentation is finally up on You Tube, and is shown here.
In truth, I could do the Thriller Dance all day long. There is something exhilarating about mastering a dance routine on the caliber of a Michael Jackson original, although we dumbed it down to make the whole experience less overwhelming.
Our friend Sheila Audet, aka Astrology's Astrologer, helped us as we got our bearings on what the hell we were supposed to do. Sheila danced since she was young. When she discovered she was a choreographer, the world of dance blossomed forth to give new meaning to her life.
But that was a whole other lifetime ago. Maybe two.
I gained new respect for Michael Jackson through the process of learning to do this dance. Suffice to say, he was a little understood genius. It is possible to get a glimpse of his genius. All you have to do is dance like Michael Jackson dances! It's not as easy as it looks.
The rest of the Customer Service Presentation was an exercise in helping staff to think differently about what happens in all aspects of their lives. My theory is that a shift in thinking comes about when we take personal responsibility for loving and living rather than fearing and fretting.
We used Team Hoyt, (a father, Dick Hoyt, who pushes his son, Rick Hoyt, in a wheelchair in marathons and triathlons across the country), as a living example of love and the ability to overcome odds that seemingly most people are not willing to undertake. Suddenly it occurred to me that gracefullady aka Mary McManus must know this family, who after all, live in Boston and run the Boston Marathon, just like Mary does. This was one of those skin tingling synchronicities, because Mary does know the family well. It must be fun to live in Boston with all of that enthusiasm for running the Boston Marathon!
We used a simple example of a smile in our Customer Service Presentation. Imagine what it feels like to honestly feel like smiling, like laughing, and giving this as a gift to everyone you meet in the world. You can fake it until you make it, as far as a smile goes, but what I am talking about is an honest smile, an authentic smile, a smile that feels the earth and the heavens smiling with you.
These customer service sessions are truly inspiring to the people who show up. For me, it inspires me to walk the walk, to love every patient I am honored to take care of. Those nurses who recoil at an assignment, for instance, are crying "Burnout" to everyone they meet. Our presentations are designed to prevent so-called burnout. But those who are truly burned out never show up to these performances.
May they learn to smile, very soon!
Om Peace Amen
