Dear God/ess, I am so happy to hear the crickets, again. It has been a full 360 days since I last heard them. Nothing is quite as peaceful or as wonderful, soothing or eternal.
This prayer is dedicated to the crickets. Think back to all the times you listened to nothing but that sound. Last year i wasn't writing these prayers everyday. Now that I am, I want to remember the sounds, the music played seemingly just for me, and also for you.
The cricket sounds create a kind of silence in the background of your mind. Other sounds like speeding cars or sirens in the distance do not at all dwarf the musical sound of these hopping creatures.
I remember lying in bed or camping outdoors and being lulled into a trace by their musical sound. As the summer progresses, the cricket sounds grow louder and louder, as a crescendo. Tonight, they are just beginning their musical journey through the rest of the season.
So I listen and watch the fire flies and the twinkling stars through my bedroom window. I stay awake as long as I can.
Crickets represent the world of spirit and spiritual resonance. The sound soothes the soul. it feels as if you are not alone, that the whole world sings in your spirit.
Listening to the crickets during sleep enhances dream life and may help you remember your dreams because of their vivid quality. Your intuition is strengthened. You feel a more heightened sensitivity. You feel as if you have awakened to a new day of courage and resilience.
As you tune into the cricket sounds night after night, you feel protected and well cared for. You feel like writing down your true feelings. You may suddenly write an entire symphony.
The true nature of creativity is found and applied to every aspect of your like.
