Dear God/ess, I've been in the workplace as a full time RN/CRNP (Nurse Practitioner) for 26 years. I've seen the side of "Time" that holds people prisoner without ransom or the ability to be free.So it is no surprise to learn that most people have no idea that time is the greatest illusion known to any person.
For instance, I never watched an episode of "Lost," but did hear how the final episode ended and also along the way, heard what the entire series was about.
The writers of "Lost" had the final laugh, the final "Gotcha." When I heard how the whole series ended, I needed time to ponder it.
The people I spoke to felt let down because they were hooked for six entire seasons of the show, only to realize all the characters they came to love and admired were all an illusion and a dream. They did not exist in "real time" but in an alternate dimension. People felt duped that the characters they thought were very much alive were in fact dead the whole time.
The show seems to be questioning people's false beliefs about life and death, about life after death, about simultaneous dimensions, about the eternal now, and that we are all alive, someplace, somehow.
Many people are so hooked into linear time that they actually believe that when you're dead, you're dead. I saw this early yesterday morning when one of my nursing colleagues told me about the series grand finale. She was disappointed, she said, and "let down."
Another person said, "You mean, they were all really dead the whole time?" Like somehow, it was the final reality.
So this prayer is for the writers of "Lost." Kudos to you for making people think. Also for making people deep down question how they feel about life, death and the nature of linear time.
