Yesterday, we saw a huge gater, sunning herself along the bank of the lake. As I took a picture of her, I hoped she would jump in the lake rather than come after me.

Later, I heard that when a golfer hit a ball near a gater and went out to retrieve it, the gater bit off his arm.

Then we wanted to see if we could find any stranding dolphins.

I just saw my first live gator. He stretched himself and every fifteen minutes,  snapped at a bug or a tiny fish, maybe a frog or turtle. He stayed in one place, every now and then moving with the greatest stealth to the next place where he silently stayed until he snapped at a bug, again.

 Finally Joan4 and I meet at the Charlotte North Carolina Airport. Joan wore an orange Dr Seuss hat and carried around a sign that said, “Kate Loving Shenk–TFR (Tate Family Reunion) 2010!” People tried to ignore the hilarity, and some even succeeded!
