I work three nights in a row every week, so as to have 4 days off in a row!
The first of the three is 8 hours, which feels pretty easy!
The second is the most diffulicult because I lose sight of the reality of God and Divinity, unless I constantly remind myself!
The third night, I feel like I am on vacation! I practice this feeling of freedom, feel the freedom of hearing crickets and running outside at 3 am to see the stars.
The reality of Mukunda's cough Is threatening to ruin this feeling, but if I take Muki for walks and tell him he has a coach -- me-- who now takes him for laps along the river and around the property perimeter, I notice his lungs are immediately stronger. He breathes deeply, and does not cough! The more laps we take, the more youthful he becomes!
And there is freedom in knowing that old dogs can have second chances at living.
Addendum: Our Beloved Vet says Mukunda has a terminal condition--a new growth has sprung up on his snout.
Yet ALL of our days are numbered, all of us here on this earthly plane. The dogs teach us love and how to live in the infinite NOW!! So even THIS news is a vacation, because I now have an even greater excuse to say "NO" to leaving my house!!
And a new opportunity to savor the blessings in our remaining "time" together.
